O' Donovan's Hotel is located in the centre of Clonakilty - the award winning tourist capital of West Cork (clonakilty.ie). There is a huge array and variety of attractions and activities within a short radius of the hotel, including the Model Railway Village, the Inchydoney Blue Flag beach, and the famous Michael Collins History Centre.
Clonakilty itself is a convenient base from which to explore the whole of West Cork. Its rich farmlands and river valleys contrast with the rocky hills of the Western coast, there is the magnificent coastline with great bays, headlands and coves.
The towns and villages are lively and friendly, and welcoming to strangers who come to join in the fun.

Back To TopThe Hotel is located on Pearse Street(town centre), in Clonakilty Town, in West Cork, Ireland.
From the East (Cork/Bandon/Airport/Ferry)
Take the N71 national route. On approaching the first roundabout, follow signs for the town centre. Pass the statue and tree on the left in the town centre, straight through the next junction. You are now on Pearse Street. The hotel is located approximately half way up on the left hand side with access to the car park via the archway.
You may wish to rent a car in Cork City or Cork Airport. Once in a car follow signs for "West Cork", then "Clonakilty", then "Town Centre" or "Pearse Street" (once in Clonakilty do not take the "bypass" road). Once on Pearse Street (which is a one way street) you will see O'Donovan's Hotel on your left, drive through the archway into our carpark. If you have to park on a public Street or in the Town Council carpark please note there is a two-hour limit Mon-Sat that is enforced by a traffic warden.
From the West (Skibbereen/Rosscarbery)
Take the N71 national route. On approaching the first roundabout, follow signs for the town centre. At the large Catholic Church (on your right), turn right into Bridge Street, then left into Kent Street, then left into Rossa Street (one way) and left onto Pearse Street (one way). The hotel is located approximately half way up on the left hand side with access to the car park via the archway.

By Bus
The public bus company, Bus Éireann, runs a daily service between Cork City (The Bus Station at Parnell Place) and West Cork with the Clonakilty stop right outside of the hotel door. The Cork bound service departs from a different stop nearby on the bypass. Directions and times are available from reception (The official Clonakilty bus agency is located next door in Paddy Meade's newsagents).
By Air
The nearest airport is Cork International Airport (ORK) which is just outside Cork City.
By Rail
The nearest Train Station is Kent Station which is in Cork City.
